Every elevated work platform has a rated platform capacity stamped on the manufacturer's plate, and that number is a hard limit — it accounts for the platform, the load and the machine's stability as a system. Overloading a platform is one of the most direct ways to cause a tip-over or structural failure. This checker adds up the weight you're planning to put on the platform — people, tools and materials — and compares it against the rated capacity you enter.

How This Works & Assumptions
The maths is deliberately simple: number of people multiplied by the average person weight you enter, plus the weight of tools and materials, gives the total load. That total is compared against the rated platform capacity you read off your machine's plate. The margin is what's left, and the percentage shows how much of the rated capacity you're using.
Assumptions: the average person weight defaults to 100 kg but is fully editable — set it to reflect your crew, and remember that people rarely step onto a platform empty-handed, so include harnesses, PPE and anything carried. The rated capacity must come from the machine's own data plate; it is not assumed or looked up here. Some machines also limit the number of occupants and have a separate manual force limit — the plate and operator's manual are the authority.
