Snorkel EWP Inspections, Repairs & Certification

Snorkel has a long history in the aerial access market and its booms and scissor lifts are a familiar sight on Australian construction, industrial and maintenance sites. As an independent specialist we keep that plant safe and compliant — inspecting, repairing, load-testing and recertifying Snorkel machines whoever originally supplied them and wherever they are now working.

We are not a Snorkel dealer or authorised service agent, and we will not suggest we are. What we offer instead is impartial expertise: honest condition reporting and thorough work carried out against the Australian Standards. That independence means a Snorkel machine leaves our hands certified on the strength of its actual condition, not a sales relationship.

What We Do

Snorkel Capabilities

EWP Australia is an independent specialist — not a dealership. These are the Snorkel services we coordinate nationally.

Routine & annual inspections

Snorkel booms and scissors inspected to AS 2550.10, covering structure, hydraulics, controls and safety systems, with every finding recorded in the machine logbook.

10-year major inspections

For ageing Snorkel plant we coordinate the strip-down, structural assessment and recertification that becomes due at the ten-year point under the AS 2550.10 framework.

NDT & load testing

Non-destructive testing of Snorkel boom sections, pivot pins and welds, plus load and stability testing to confirm a unit still performs to its rated safe working load.

Certification & compliance records

We certify Snorkel machines back into service after inspection or repair and keep the paperwork tidy so your compliance records stand up to an audit.

Repairs & scheduled servicing

Independent mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs on Snorkel equipment, plus scheduled maintenance that keeps service intervals and inspection dates aligned.

Equipment

Snorkel Ranges We See

  • Telescopic booms

Straight-boom platforms built for outdoor height and horizontal outreach on construction, civil and infrastructure work.

  • Articulating booms

Knuckle booms that fold to reach up and over obstacles where a straight boom cannot get a clear line to the work.

  • Scissor lifts

Electric and rough-terrain scissors for straight vertical access, from tight indoor fit-outs to outdoor construction decks.

  • Vertical mast lifts

Compact mast platforms suited to low-level indoor maintenance in confined and access-restricted spaces.

Inspection & Service Notes

  • Articulating Snorkel booms carry several pivot points, so pin wear, bushing condition and hose routing through the joints are checked closely during inspection.
  • Scissor lifts depend on the lifting stack, guide rollers and maintenance props, which are assessed before a unit is signed back into service.
  • Rough-terrain units accumulate wear at the drive and steer components, so these are examined alongside the platform systems.
  • Faults in the hydraulics and controls are traced back through each Snorkel machine's own systems instead of guessing, so any repair is precise and fully recorded.
FAQs

Common Questions

Are you a Snorkel dealer or authorised service agent?

No. We are an independent EWP specialist. We inspect, service, repair, load-test and certify Snorkel equipment, but we are not a dealer, distributor or authorised agent for Snorkel. That independence keeps our condition reports impartial.

Can you inspect and certify a Snorkel machine we bought elsewhere?

Yes. Our inspections and certification are independent and cover any Snorkel unit regardless of where it came from. We assess it to AS 2550.10 and record the findings in the logbook so your compliance records are audit-ready.

Can you handle a 10-year major inspection on a Snorkel boom?

Yes. When a Snorkel boom or scissor reaches ten years we coordinate the strip-down, NDT and recertification required under the AS 2550.10 framework so the machine returns to service compliant. Call 0416 689 689 to plan the downtime.

Do you carry out NDT on Snorkel booms?

Yes. We crack-test Snorkel boom sections, pins and welds as part of major inspections and where a fault or repair calls for it, with the results documented alongside the inspection record.
