Palfinger Platform Inspections, Repairs & Testing
Palfinger's access platform range covers truck-mounted units used across utility, facilities, arboriculture and infrastructure work in Australia. These platforms pair a road-going chassis with an articulating or telescopic boom, and as an independent specialist we keep them compliant through inspection, repair, NDT, load testing and major inspection — whatever the chassis and however the unit is configured.
We are not a Palfinger dealer or authorised service agent, and we will not suggest we are. Our value is impartial, methodical work to the Australian Standards across the boom, the outrigger and levelling systems, and the interface with the host vehicle. Truck-mounted platforms take a beating on the road as well as on site, and we assess them with that in mind.
Palfinger Platforms Capabilities
EWP Australia is an independent specialist — not a dealership. These are the Palfinger Platforms services we coordinate nationally.
Periodic & annual inspections
Palfinger truck-mounted platforms inspected to AS 2550.10, covering boom structure, hydraulics, outriggers, controls and safety systems, all recorded in the logbook.
Ten-year major inspections
We coordinate the strip-down, structural assessment and recertification Palfinger plant is due for at the ten-year point under the AS 2550.10 framework.
NDT & load testing
Crack testing of boom sections, pins and welds, plus load and stability testing to confirm a platform still performs to its rated safe working load.
Repairs & scheduled servicing
Independent hydraulic, mechanical and electrical repairs on Palfinger platforms, with scheduled maintenance that keeps units dependable between inspections.
Certification & pre-purchase checks
We certify Palfinger units back into service and provide independent pre-purchase condition reports so a purchase reflects real wear and compliance status.
Palfinger Platforms Ranges We See
Telescopic truck-mounted platforms
Straight-boom platforms mounted on a road-going chassis for reach on utility, facilities and infrastructure maintenance.
Articulating truck-mounted platforms
Knuckle-boom platforms that reach up and over obstacles for access where a straight boom cannot get a clear path.
Van-mounted access units
Compact platforms mounted on light commercial vehicles for urban and access-restricted maintenance work.
Outrigger and levelling systems
The stabiliser legs, levelling and stability controls that keep a truck-mounted platform safe through its working envelope.
Inspection & Service Notes
- Truck and van-mounted platforms rely on their outriggers and levelling, so leg operation, foot pads and stability interlocks are inspected before any work at height.
- On a Palfinger truck-mounted inspection we assess the sub-frame together with the interface that connects the access unit to its host chassis.
- Boom pivots, pins, bushings and slide surfaces are examined for wear, and hose routing through the articulation is checked for chafing and condition.
- Hydraulic and control faults are diagnosed against the machine's own systems so repairs stay targeted and are properly documented.
Common Questions
Are you a Palfinger dealer or authorised service agent?
No. We are an independent EWP specialist. We inspect, service, repair, load-test and certify Palfinger platforms, but we hold no dealership or authorised-agent status. That independence keeps our assessments objective.
Can you inspect a Palfinger platform on any chassis?
Yes. Our inspections cover the access unit, the outrigger and levelling systems and the interface with the host vehicle to AS 2550.10, regardless of the chassis the platform is mounted on.
Do you handle Palfinger 10-year major inspections?
Yes. When a Palfinger platform reaches ten years we coordinate the strip-down, NDT and recertification required under the AS 2550.10 framework. Call 0416 689 689 to plan the work around your operation.
Can you check a used Palfinger before I purchase it?
Yes. Our pre-purchase inspections are independent and cover any Palfinger platform, including its inspection status and whether a major inspection is due. Call 0416 689 689 to arrange one.
