Skyjack Scissor Lift & Boom Inspections & Repairs

Skyjack is one of the most heavily used access brands on hire fleets across Australia, best known for its rugged, no-nonsense scissor lifts alongside a range of booms. Sheer fleet numbers mean these machines rack up hard hours on site, and as an independent specialist we keep them safe and compliant through inspection, repair, load testing and recertification.

We are not a Skyjack dealer or authorised service agent, and we do not pretend to be. Our role is straightforward, impartial work to the Australian Standards: assessing each machine on its real condition, tracing faults properly and certifying it back into service. High-cycle scissor lifts in particular reward regular, honest inspection, and that is exactly what we provide.

What We Do

Skyjack Capabilities

EWP Australia is an independent specialist — not a dealership. These are the Skyjack services we coordinate nationally.

Periodic & annual inspections

Skyjack scissors and booms inspected to AS 2550.10, with structure, hydraulics, controls and safety systems assessed and logged for audit.

Major inspections at ten years

We coordinate the deep strip-down, structural testing and recertification Skyjack plant is due for once it reaches the ten-year mark under AS 2550.10.

NDT & load testing

Crack testing of Skyjack boom welds, pins and load-bearing components, plus load and stability testing to verify a machine still meets its rated capacity.

Certification back to service

After inspection or repair we certify Skyjack machines back into service and keep the compliance paperwork straight for fleet and audit records.

Independent repairs & maintenance

Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs on Skyjack equipment, and scheduled servicing that keeps high-use machines reliable between inspections.

Equipment

Skyjack Ranges We See

  • Electric scissor lifts

Compact and mid-size electric scissors for vertical access across indoor fit-outs and light outdoor work where a small footprint helps.

  • Rough-terrain scissor lifts

Diesel and 4WD scissors built for uneven outdoor construction ground where extra drive and stability are needed.

  • Telescopic booms

Straight booms for outdoor height and horizontal reach on construction and infrastructure sites.

  • Articulating booms

Knuckle booms that reach up and over structures where a straight boom cannot get a clear path to the work.

Inspection & Service Notes

  • High-cycle scissor lifts wear at the lifting stack, guide rollers and pivot pins, so these are inspected closely along with the maintenance props before a unit returns to service.
  • Rough-terrain scissors and booms accumulate wear at the drive, steer and levelling components, which are examined alongside the platform systems.
  • Boom pivots, wear pads and hose routing are checked so the platform sits true through the full working range.
  • Electrical and control problems on Skyjack units are worked back through the machine's onboard diagnostics so the fix tackles the root cause, not just the symptom.
FAQs

Common Questions

Are you an authorised Skyjack service centre?

No. We are an independent access-equipment specialist. We inspect, service, repair, load-test and certify Skyjack machines, but we hold no dealership or authorised-agent status with Skyjack. Our reports are impartial as a result.

Can you inspect a large fleet of Skyjack scissors?

Yes. We regularly inspect and certify Skyjack machines to AS 2550.10 and can plan the work around a fleet's availability so units cycle through inspection without stalling your operation. Call 0416 689 689 to organise a schedule.

Do you handle Skyjack 10-year major inspections?

Yes. When a Skyjack scissor or boom reaches ten years we coordinate the strip-down, NDT and recertification required under the AS 2550.10 framework so it returns to service compliant.

Can you repair a Skyjack scissor that has failed an inspection?

Yes. We carry out independent mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs on Skyjack equipment, then re-inspect and certify the machine back into service with the work documented.
