Tadano Truck-Mounted EWP Inspections & Repairs

Tadano is a Japanese manufacturer with a strong lifting heritage whose truck-mounted aerial work platforms — including insulated units — turn up in Australian utility and infrastructure fleets. As an independent specialist we keep that plant compliant, covering the boom, outriggers and host chassis interface, plus the insulated components where a unit is built for work near live electrical apparatus.

We are not a Tadano dealer or authorised service agent, and nothing here should suggest we are. Our value is impartial, methodical work to the Australian Standards: honest condition reporting, dielectric and electrical testing where the unit is insulated, NDT of the boom and thorough mechanical and hydraulic repair. A utility platform is only as safe as its last genuine inspection.

What We Do

Tadano Capabilities

EWP Australia is an independent specialist — not a dealership. These are the Tadano services we coordinate nationally.

Periodic & annual inspections

Tadano truck-mounted units inspected to AS 2550.10, covering boom structure, hydraulics, outriggers, controls and safety systems, with logbook records for every unit.

Insulated & dielectric testing

Where a Tadano unit is insulated, periodic dielectric and electrical testing of the boom sections, liners and components that protect crews near live apparatus, verified and documented.

Ten-year major inspections

We coordinate the strip-down, structural assessment and recertification Tadano plant is due for at the ten-year point under the AS 2550.10 framework.

NDT & load testing

Crack testing across the boom sections, pins and welds, backed by load and stability testing to prove a Tadano unit still meets its rated safe working load.

Repairs, servicing & certification

Independent hydraulic, mechanical and electrical repairs, scheduled servicing and certification of Tadano units back into service after work is complete.

Equipment

Tadano Ranges We See

  • Insulated truck-mounted units

Road-going utility aerial devices fitted with insulated components so crews can work safely near live electrical apparatus.

  • Telescopic truck-mounted booms

Straight booms that give working reach for utility and infrastructure tasks straight off the truck chassis.

  • Articulating truck-mounted booms

Knuckle booms that fold up and over obstructions to reach line and infrastructure access points.

  • Outrigger and stability systems

The stabiliser legs, levelling gear and stability controls that hold a truck-mounted platform secure right across its working envelope.

Inspection & Service Notes

  • An insulated Tadano's dielectric boom sections and liners weaken over time through age, contamination and damage, so we clean, inspect and electrically test them rather than assume they remain sound.
  • Tadano truck-mounted platforms lean on their outriggers and levelling for stability, so leg operation, foot pads and stability interlocks are checked before crews go up.
  • As part of a truck-mounted inspection we assess the sub-frame and the join between the aerial device and the host chassis it sits on.
  • The frequency of dielectric testing is dictated by the applicable standard and Tadano's requirements for the specific unit and rating, rather than an interval picked at random.
FAQs

Common Questions

Are you an authorised Tadano dealer or service agent?

No. We are an independent specialist. We inspect, service, repair, dielectric-test and certify Tadano equipment, but we hold no dealership or authorised-agent status with Tadano. Our reporting is impartial as a result.

Can you dielectric-test a Tadano insulated unit?

Yes. Where a Tadano unit is insulated we coordinate periodic dielectric and electrical testing of the boom sections, liners and components, verified against the applicable standard and manufacturer requirements and documented for your records.

How often does a Tadano insulated unit need electrical testing?

The required frequency comes from the applicable standard and Tadano's requirements for that particular unit and its insulation rating, rather than an arbitrary figure. Call 0416 689 689 and we will confirm the correct testing regime for your machine.

Do you handle Tadano 10-year major inspections?

Yes. When a Tadano unit reaches ten years we coordinate the strip-down, NDT and recertification required under the AS 2550.10 framework, including the chassis interface and, where fitted, the insulated components.
