Versalift Truck-Mounted EWP Inspections & Repairs
Versalift is a well-known name in truck-mounted aerial platforms, widely run by utility, telecommunications and infrastructure crews across Australia — including insulated units built for work on and near live electrical apparatus. As an independent specialist we keep that plant compliant, covering the boom, the host chassis interface and, where fitted, the insulated components that protect crews at height.
We are not a Versalift dealer or authorised service agent, and nothing here should imply otherwise. Our value is impartial: honest condition reporting, dielectric and electrical testing where the unit is insulated, and thorough mechanical work to the Australian Standards. A truck-mounted platform lives a hard life on the road and on site, and we assess it accordingly.
Versalift Capabilities
EWP Australia is an independent specialist — not a dealership. These are the Versalift services we coordinate nationally.
Periodic & annual inspections
Versalift truck-mounted platforms inspected to AS 2550.10, covering boom structure, hydraulics, outriggers, controls and safety systems, all recorded in the logbook.
Insulated & dielectric testing
Where a Versalift unit is insulated, periodic dielectric and electrical testing of the boom sections, liners and components that protect crews near live apparatus, verified and documented.
Ten-year major inspections
We coordinate the strip-down, structural assessment and recertification Versalift plant is due for at the ten-year point under the AS 2550.10 framework.
NDT & load testing
Crack testing of boom sections, pins and welds, plus load and stability testing to confirm the platform still performs to its rated safe working load.
Repairs, servicing & certification
Independent hydraulic, mechanical and electrical repairs, scheduled servicing and certification of Versalift units back into service after work is complete.
Versalift Ranges We See
Insulated truck-mounted platforms
Utility aerial devices built with insulated components for work near live electrical apparatus, mounted on a road-going chassis.
Telescopic truck-mounted booms
Straight-boom platforms for reach on utility, telecommunications and infrastructure maintenance from a truck chassis.
Articulating truck-mounted booms
Knuckle-boom platforms that reach up and over obstacles for line and infrastructure access where a straight boom cannot.
Van-mounted access units
Compact platforms mounted on light commercial vehicles for maintenance and utility access in urban and access-restricted work.
Inspection & Service Notes
- A Versalift insulated unit's dielectric boom sections and liners lose insulating performance as they age and pick up contamination or damage, so we clean, inspect and electrically test them rather than take them on trust.
- Truck and van-mounted platforms rely on outriggers and levelling, so leg operation, foot pads and stability interlocks are inspected before work at height.
- The sub-frame and interface between the aerial device and its host chassis are assessed as part of a truck-mounted inspection.
- How often dielectric testing is done depends on the applicable standard and Versalift's requirements for that particular unit and rating, never a figure we simply guess at.
Common Questions
Are you an authorised Versalift dealer or service agent?
No. We are an independent specialist. We inspect, service, repair, dielectric-test and certify Versalift equipment, but we hold no dealership or authorised-agent status with Versalift. Our reporting is impartial as a result.
Can you dielectric-test a Versalift insulated unit?
Yes. Where a Versalift unit is insulated we coordinate periodic dielectric and electrical testing of the boom sections, liners and components, verified against the applicable standard and manufacturer requirements and documented for your records.
How often does a Versalift insulated unit need electrical testing?
The interval follows the applicable standard and the manufacturer's requirements for that specific unit and its insulation rating, rather than a fixed figure we would invent. Call 0416 689 689 and we will confirm the correct regime for your machine.
Do you carry out Versalift 10-year major inspections?
Yes. When a Versalift platform reaches ten years we coordinate the strip-down, NDT and recertification required under the AS 2550.10 framework, including the chassis interface and, where fitted, the insulated components.
