EWP Truck Value Calculator
Working out what a used cherry picker or bucket truck is worth is never as tidy as a spreadsheet suggests — but a straight-line depreciation estimate is a useful place to start a conversation. This tool takes a purchase price or current replacement cost, the machine's age in years, and a depreciation rate you choose yourself, then applies it year by year to produce an indicative current value. You stay in control of every assumption; the tool never invents a resale percentage or a market rate on your behalf.
You can also apply a condition adjustment — a percentage up or down that you set — to nudge the figure toward a machine that has been looked after or one that hasn't. On top of the current estimate, it projects a value one, three and five years out on the same assumptions, so you can see roughly how the depreciation curve behaves. This is an indicative planning estimate built entirely from your inputs. It is emphatically not a market valuation, and the disclaimers below matter — read them before you rely on any number here.

How This Works & Assumptions
The estimate uses straight-line depreciation: the rate you choose is applied to the original price and the same dollar amount is written off for every year of age. So a machine at a 10% rate loses 10% of its starting price each year — half its value gone by year five, on paper. The projections simply extend that same line one, three and five years further out from today's age.
The optional condition adjustment is a percentage you set yourself. A positive figure lifts the estimate for a machine that presents well or has a strong history; a negative figure trims it for wear, high hours or deferred work. It is a manual nudge, not a market-derived correction — the number is entirely your call.
Assumptions: nothing is pre-filled. The depreciation rate, the age, the price and the condition adjustment all come from you. Real machines rarely depreciate in a neat straight line — the curve is usually steeper early on and flatter later, and it is heavily influenced by hours, service history and whether a major inspection (due at either five or ten years depending on the equipment class) has been carried out or still looms.
This Is Not A Valuation
The figures above are an indicative planning estimate produced from your own assumptions, not a market valuation. Genuine resale value depends on hours on the machine, mechanical and structural condition, inspection and service history, and what a buyer will actually pay on the day. Never buy, sell or finance a truck on the strength of this estimate alone. For an independent pre-purchase inspection that tells you what a specific machine is really carrying, call 0416 689 689.
