What is a spider lift?
A spider lift is a compact tracked EWP with articulating outriggers, named for its spread-legged setup. Its narrow track and light footprint let it pass through gateways and work on soft or delicate surfaces where a self-propelled boom couldn't go.
Can I tow a trailer-mounted EWP with a standard vehicle?
Trailer-mounted units are towable, but the towing vehicle must be rated for the trailer's weight and you must comply with road and load requirements. Confirm the unit's towing weight against your vehicle before you plan the job.
Are spider lifts stable on uneven ground?
Yes — spider lifts set up on adjustable outriggers that level and stabilise the machine on sloping or uneven ground. They must be set up on firm footing within the manufacturer's limits before the platform is raised.
Do these units need a high risk work licence?
