NDT & Load Testing in Dubbo

Machines based in the Orana take on structural stress that concentrates at the welds — long road travel, dusty saleyard and rural environments, and the constant pounding of hard, uneven western-plains ground. That combination drives fatigue into weld toes and pin bores, and crack testing is the check that finds those indications while they are still repairable rather than after something lets go far from a workshop.

EWP Australia provides magnetic particle, dye penetrant and eddy current testing plus certified load testing for EWPs and cranes across Dubbo and the Orana — standalone after damage or suspicion, or built into annual, 5-year and 10-year inspections. Reports set out exactly what was tested, where, to what method and result, with repair recommendations whenever indications are found.

NDT & Load Testing in Dubbo — Common Questions

We reckon a boom got knocked around on a rough transport run — can just that section be examined?

Yes. Directing crack testing at one section after a suspected knock is a routine job. The affected area is checked, you're told whether the indication is real, and a repair is recommended where one's warranted.

Do we have to haul the machine in for the load test, or can it be done on site?

Rated-capacity load testing is carried out with certified weights delivered to the machine's location, provided access allows. Pass on the site and access details at booking and the test is set up to suit.
