NDT & Load Testing in Orange

Central West machines take a beating that shows up first at the welds. Cold-climate duty cycles, dusty rural work and the pounding of hard tableland ground all drive fatigue into structure, and frost accelerates any corrosion that has taken hold near weld toes and pin bores. Crack testing is how those problems get found while they are still repairable rather than after a component has failed on the job.

EWP Australia provides magnetic particle, dye penetrant and eddy current testing plus certified load testing for EWPs and cranes across Orange and the Central West — standalone after damage or suspicion, or built into annual, 5-year and 10-year inspections. Reports identify exactly what was tested, where, to what method and with what result, with repair recommendations when indications are found.

NDT & Load Testing in Orange — Common Questions

There's a hairline mark on one of our boom welds — do we have to book a whole inspection to get it checked?

No. A single weld or area can be crack tested on its own, without the rest of an inspection. If the mark turns out to be a genuine indication, you'll get a clear repair path rather than a bare fail result.

Where does the load test happen — do we need to float the machine somewhere?

The rated-capacity test is run using certified weights that are brought to wherever the machine sits, as long as there's room and safe access. Give us the site details when booking and the test is planned to work there.
