NDT & Load Testing on the Sunshine Coast

Salt air is the Sunshine Coast's structural enemy. Machines working within a few kilometres of the surf carry corrosion into weld toes, pin bores and box sections years before an inland machine would, and corrosion is where fatigue cracks start. Crack testing on coastal machines isn't a formality at inspection milestones — it's the check that finds what a decade of sea breeze has actually done to the structure.

EWP Australia delivers magnetic particle, dye penetrant and eddy current testing plus certified load testing for EWPs and cranes across the Sunshine Coast, from Caloundra to Noosa and the hinterland. Testing runs standalone after damage or suspicion, or as part of annual, 5-year and 10-year inspections — with reports an auditor can follow end to end.

FAQs

NDT & Load Testing in Sunshine Coast — Common Questions

My machine has surface rust near welds — is that an NDT trigger?

It's worth testing, yes. Surface corrosion near structural welds is exactly where crack initiation starts, and testing now is far cheaper than repairing a propagated crack later.

Can load testing be done at our yard on the Coast?

Usually yes — certified test weights come to the machine. Tell us the location and access when you book and we plan the test around it.
